"IL FILO ROTTO"
L'immagine omaggia la poesia di strada
"THE BROKEN WIRE " - the image pays homage to street poetry"
Street poems pasted on the facades of ancient buildings in the historic center of Florene. Words that one must trip over, even when one just tries to tear them away. The street poets of the MeP-Movement for the Emancipation of Poetry paste their words so firmly that a part of them almost always survives the hand who try to detach them. These poets never give up. They return. All time. For years. At night. To repropose their reflections along a path of ancient homes. The owners rarely appreciate, the fight goes on.
We find the pieces that survived the attemped elimination often worn away by time and the poems stripped of some or most of their original message. So the remaining words turn into a mental game. They are looking for another author who can give them a new identity. And I enjoy responding to their call by creating photographic elaborations where the image helps the nuanced message and proposes a new visual form that pays homage to words that are still intact. An invitation to let your imagination fly by letting yourself be carried away by the narration of the union between word and image.
